Lead Product Designer (IC)

This is an opportunity to join an established, mission led business at a pivotal point in its evolution. The product is already valued by globally recognised financial institutions, but the wider experience around it is now being rethought. The business is shifting to a product led organisation, and design will play a central role in that change.

As Lead Product Designer, you'll be the senior individual contributor owning design, UX, and research across a growing product estate. You'll help shape a more connected platform experience, influence how design operates across the business, and work closely with senior leadership to make design a more strategic function.

This role would suit you if you enjoy building in ambiguity, creating structure where it does not yet exist, and balancing hands on delivery with wider strategic thinking.

The opportunity

The client has a long standing product offering that delivers high value training and assessment for financial institutions.

You'll help create a more coherent, enterprise grade product experience that connects user and client data, supports different journeys across assessment and development, and gives stakeholders more meaningful insight through workflows, benchmarking, and profile led experiences.

In many ways, this is a 0-1 platform challenge inside an established business.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of design end to end, working across UX, research, interaction design, systems thinking, and interface detail.

You'll partner closely with product, engineering, leadership, and founders to improve the product experience and raise the bar for design across the company.

You'll also help the wider business better understand the value of design, from user behaviour and pain points through to product thinking, prioritisation, and better decision making.

This is a Lead title, but for the next 12-18 months it is expected to remain a senior IC role. You'll be the key permanent design voice, with occasional contractor support where needed.
