The RoleWe're looking for a Lead Pipeline & Tools Engineer to join our talented engineering team. In this role, you'll lead the development of internal tools, pipeline and workflow that empower our Artists, Designers, and Developers to deliver world-class gaming experiences. You'll mentor a team of Engineers, drive technical excellence, and ensure the reliable delivery of high-quality tools that streamline workflows and boost productivity across the studio.
Responsibilities- Lead and mentor the Pipelines & Tools Engineering team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Oversee the planning, scoping, and delivery of tools, pipelines and workflows that support all content creation teams using UE5
- Liaise with stakeholders across disciplines to identify and address tooling needs.
- Review and approve technical documentation and architectural decisions.
- Ensure high-quality code and robust tools through best practices and automated testing.
- Identify risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation in Tools development.
- Contribute to the studio's technical direction and culture of excellence.
- Proven experience as a Tools Engineer on one or more AAA titles.
- Strong knowledge of DCC tools such as 3DS Max, Maya, Substance Suite, and Houdini.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5 pipelines and Tools.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git, Perforce etc.
- Expertise in creating tools, pipelines and workflows enabling others to do their best work.
- Experience mentoring or leading other engineers.
- Solid understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Self-driven with a proactive mindset and attention to detail.
- A genuine passion for games and game development.
- Prior experience in line management or leading engineering teams.
- Familiarity with supporting hybrid teams.
- Experience delivering large-scale tools projects across the full development lifecycle.
