We're on the lookout for aLead Software Engineerto head up a brand-new squad within ourManheim Vehicle Services (MVS)business. MVS processes over200,000 vehicles annuallyfor major manufacturers, finance, and rental companies-this is your chance to make a real impact at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Lead from the front: Be a hands-on technical leader, guiding a team of developers and QA engineers.
  • Architect the future: Design and build scalable, secure, and high-performing systems using modern cloud-native technologies.
  • Mentor and inspire: Help shape the next generation of engineering talent.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with product managers, architects, and UX/UI teams to deliver exceptional digital products.
  • Champion quality: Set the bar high for code quality, testing, and delivery standards.

We're modernising from a .NET Framework monolith to a microservices architecture in AWS. You'll work with:

  • Cloud: AWS (EKS, ECS, Lambda, Aurora, DynamoDB, DocumentDB)
  • Frontend: React
  • Messaging: Kafka, SNS/SQS, EventBridge
  • CI/CD: GitHub Actions, GitHub Enterprise

What You Bring

  • Proven experience leading agile development teams.
  • Deep expertise in .NET, AWS, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • A passion for clean, scalable architecture and event-driven systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills-you know how to bring out the best in people.
  • A delivery mindset with a focus on value, security, and resilience.
  • Experience with microservices, TDD, and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • A natural ability to juggle priorities and drive strategy.
