Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead with a strong background in data systems and cloud-based solutions to spearhead the development of an integrated analytics platform. You will lead a cross-functional team comprising two software engineers and one remote sensing expert, driving the architecture, implementation, and deployment of a scalable cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in data integration, predictive modeling, and workflow automation while fostering effective collaboration and ensuring the on-time delivery of robust, data-driven solutions.


Position duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the software development team, establishing priorities, reviewing code, and enforcing best practices to maintain high-quality software standards.
  • Architect and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, supporting real-time data processing, model integration, and delivery pipelines.
  • Integrate and operationalize machine learning models, ensuring efficient deployment within robust, production-grade environments.
  • Collaborate closely with domain scientists and remote sensing experts to ensure alignment between technical implementation and underlying data models.
  • Oversee CI/CD pipelines and system testing, facilitating smooth deployments and continuous performance improvements across the platform.


Qualification and requirements:

  • Proven programming expertise, with a strong preference for Python and familiarity with modern development practices.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly SageMaker, S3, and Lambda, for data handling and machine learning workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience leading small technical teams, with the ability to coordinate development tasks and mentor team members.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning pipelines, including training, deployment, and integration into scalable software systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or Machine Learning Specialty.
  • Experience working with geospatial or environmental datasets, particularly those sourced via remote sensing platforms.
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
