Job Description

Lead Data Architect - Birmingham / Hybrid - £65,853 to £77,474 per annum + benefits

Join a major UK infrastructure programme delivering a world class transport network that will transform national connectivity.

As the Lead Data Architect, you'll shape and oversee the organisation's enterprise wide data architecture ensuring that data is structured, governed, and used effectively across large, complex systems. Working closely with Data Strategists and technical teams, you'll lead on data standards, governance, and design to support digital transformation and business insight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement enterprise wide data architecture policies and frameworks.
  • Lead and manage the Data Architecture practice.
  • Own and maintain the corporate data model and data catalogue.
  • Assure data modelling in IT and digital developments.
  • Oversee master data, data stores, and information management plans.
  • Coordinate with wider architecture and analytics teams.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) within data management.
Skills & Experience
  • Strong expertise in information management, data modelling, and database design.
  • Experience in solution architecture and information assurance.
  • Proven ability to design and govern data models, metadata, and dictionaries.
  • Skilled at aligning data and technical architectures.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership of junior team members.
  • Experience working within a large, complex organisation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Azure, Power BI, and Sparx Enterprise Architect.
