Job Description

Reporting to the Head of L&C MN Europe, the successful candidate ensures that NOKIA's strategies are created, and business decisions are made with adequate knowledge and understanding of the involved legal issues in CBT Orange, CBT Iliad & NJJ.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
  • Supports the OR, Iliad & NJJ teams in France and other countries where relevant customers are doing business and coordinates tasks and responsibilities with other L&C and non-L&C resources as appropriate.
  • Provides leadership for staff and work teams or task forces in broad functional/process areas to solve complex and diverse issues.
  • Integrates the delivery of client service (internal and/or external clients) by multiple work groups to ensure that current and evolving client needs are met.
  • Applies broad and in-depth business management knowledge to resolve multidiscipline or multi-functional/process problems.
  • Plans, organizes and manages legal spend for the relevant area of responsibilities (external and internal).
  • Manages external legal relationships with law firms.
  • Proactively monitors and ensures compliance with all laws and regulations relevant to his/her area of responsibility, and provides training, updates and information to the relevant customers' teams.

The successful candidate:

  • is an acclaimed specialist in commercial law who demonstrates depth/breadth of knowledge/skills in own discipline.
  • is able to apply knowledge/skills through handling complex problems and/or coordinating work which may extend beyond own area of expertise.
  • shares expertise with colleagues and other departments.
  • anticipates client needs and investigates the underlying causes and identifies short and long term solutions.
  • anticipates internal/external business issues and developments in own discipline.
  • uses knowledge to focus work and drive improvements.
  • provides expert legal advice to the internal clients.
  • works in close cooperation with sales and customer team supporting the tendering phase, contract negotiation, the delivery of their projects and post sales in a manner to provide advice and minimizing the legal risk.
  • supports the compliance office in all relevant tasks.
  • proven experience in managing complex compliance issues and take associated sound decisions.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Jurist Doctor or equivalent (France or French jurisdiction countries), MBA/LLM or equivalent is a plus.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and French.
  • Command of another European Language would be a plus.
  • Strong intercultural and leadership skills.
  • Several years working experience.
  • Material working experience in other jurisdictions.
  • Solution minded lawyer with excellent business understanding.
