The Post:

The National Services Directorate (NSD) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Obstetric Lead for the Scottish Perinatal Network, the national strategic network for maternity and neonatal services in Scotland. The Obstetric Lead will provide clinical leadership to the Network jointly with the Network Midwifery and Neonatal Leads.

The Network Lead Clinician will have a key strategic role in working nationally with clinical and non-clinical colleagues, third sector organisations, Scottish Government and other stakeholders to drive forward the development of an effective, integrated, multidisciplinary service for maternity and neonatal care throughout Scotland.

The Candidate:

Applicants will be leaders in maternity care with experience in the provision and development of maternity services. A proven record in leading change, the ability to work across traditional organisational, geographical and professional boundaries, and a demonstrable understanding of the ethos of managed clinical networks are essential.

Applicants must have a current substantive role as an NHS Scotland employee and have the agreed support of their Clinical Director for this post to be incorporated into their job plan. The employing NHS Board will be recompensed for the agreed sessional commitment on the basis of evidence of actual backfill costs incurred to release the individual to fulfil the Lead Clinician role requirements.

Location and Working Pattern:

Location - Dependent on location of main employment.

Currently hybrid working.

Work pattern - Monday to Sunday, 2 PAs per week.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
