Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Child Care Lawyer to join our dynamic Legal Services team at the Isle of Wight Council.

As a Child Care Lawyer, you will represent the Council in child care proceedings and other legal matters, providing expert advice and representation to ensure the best outcomes for children and families. The role involves managing a caseload of 8 to 10 cases, primarily focused on care proceedings, with no work required in SEN, Care Home, or DOLS areas.

Candidate Requirements

• Knowledge of relevant policies, regulations, and legislation
• Excellent interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage conflicting demands and work under pressure
• Professional qualifications (CFILEX, barrister, or solicitor)
