Job Description

Job Title: Laboratory Analyst

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £25,500 - £27,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm)

A well-established, multi-site asbestos consultancy with a strong UK presence is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join its Scotland-based team. The organisation has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, compliant services to a portfolio of high-profile clients. Owing to continued growth, expansion, and recent contract awards, this opportunity offers the chance to join a business experiencing sustained year-on-year development.

This role provides an excellent platform for individuals looking to contribute to a collaborative, quality-driven laboratory environment within a forward-thinking and expanding company.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct analysis of bulk material samples for asbestos content in accordance with accredited company procedures.

Support colleagues in prioritising workload and managing laboratory KPIs.

Accurately record analytical observations and data to enable the production of precise and compliant reports (hard copy and electronic).

Complete quality control and assurance processes to maintain authorisation status and UKAS accreditation.

Respond to internal queries and requirements in a professional and timely manner.

Ensure laboratory equipment is used correctly and report any faults or defects immediately.

Undertake additional duties as delegated by management.

Candidate Requirements

Previous experience within the asbestos and/or analytical sector.

BOHS P401 qualification (or RSPH equivalent) - essential.

Strong work ethic with a proactive approach.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail.
