Job Title: Laboratory Analyst - Inorganic Chemistry (Ref 40570)

Division: Asset Operations & Capital Delivery

Location: Spencer House, Reading, RG2 0JN

Contract Type: Permanent

Full/Part-time: Full-time (38 hours/week)

Salary: £27,723 per annum

Job Overview

We seek a Laboratory Analyst for our Inorganic Chemistry department, known for handling the highest sample throughput. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to make a meaningful impact, this is an excellent opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze samples using colorimetric, gravimetric, and automated techniques.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality results, ensuring environmental and customer protection.
  • Utilize automated systems and traditional testing methods to maintain and develop your skills.
  • Collaborate with managers and leaders to support your growth and career progression.
  • Develop expertise and expand skills continuously.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards including ISO/IEC 17025, MCERTs, and DWTS.
Working Pattern

6-week rolling rota:

  • Weeks 1 & 2: Day shifts (8 am - 4 pm or 10 am - 6 pm, flexible hours)
  • Week 5: Day shifts with a weekend work
  • Week 6: Monday & Tuesday off, then 3 days of day shifts
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in a laboratory or a Science-related degree/A-Level with minimum B/6 in Maths GCSE
  • Ability to follow strict procedures in a UKAS-accredited lab
  • Customer-focused with excellent teamwork skills
  • Comfort with repetitive tasks and maintaining focus
  • Proactive in personal growth and process improvement
