Year 5 Teacher (Fridays Only) Part-Time

St Albans, Hertfordshire

Start Date: 1st September 2026. Fixed-Term Contract Fridays Only. MPS (London Fringe): £34,397 - £52,488 (FTE). Trial Days Available.

Overview

A welcoming and highly regarded primary school in St Albans is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Year 5 Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis (Fridays only) from 1st September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher seeking a flexible teaching role within a supportive and successful school. You will work alongside an experienced Year 6 team, helping to provide consistency, challenge, and high-quality learning experiences as pupils prepare for their transition to secondary school.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a Year 5 class every Friday, delivering engaging and well-planned lessons that maintain continuity of learning across the week.
  • Work collaboratively with the parallel class teacher and wider Key Stage 2 team, ensuring pupils remain motivated, supported, and challenged to achieve their full potential.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teachers (QTS) with recent Key Stage 2 experience, ideally in Year 5.
  • Confident classroom practitioners who deliver engaging and creative lessons.
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND.
  • Teachers with high expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour, and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communicators who work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Enthusiastic professionals who are passionate about making a positive difference to children's education.
