Job Description

Part Time Year 2 Teacher (Thursdays & Fridays) - Location: Watford, Hertfordshire. Start date: September 2026. Contract: Fixed Term. Working pattern: Thursdays and Fridays (0.4).

Salary: MPS (London Fringe): £34,397 - £52,488 (FTE).

Position Overview

A friendly and successful primary school in Watford is seeking an enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join its Key Stage 1 team from September 2026. The role offers an excellent opportunity to achieve a healthy work life balance while making a meaningful impact in the classroom.

The successful candidate will work closely with the existing class teacher to deliver a seamless learning experience, ensuring pupils continue to thrive both academically and socially.

Your Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and creative lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Support children as they develop core literacy, numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Differentiated learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and work collaboratively with the Key Stage 1 team.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • A nurturing and positive teaching style.
  • High expectations of behaviour, learning, and pupil progress.
  • A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills.
