About the Role

Reed Education is seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Key Stage 1 (KS1) Supply Teachers to work across a range of primary schools in Newcastle and the surrounding areas. This role offers flexibility and variety, making it ideal for experienced teachers or newly qualified teachers (ECTs) looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

As a supply teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching across KS1 classes, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular class teacher.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the KS1 national curriculum
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports pupil development
• Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding requirements
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations
• Adapt quickly to different school settings and classroom dynamics
• Mark work where required and provide feedback in line with school policy
• Communicate effectively with school staff and contribute to a collaborative environment

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (EYFS experience desirable but not essential)
• Strong classroom management skills and adaptability
• A flexible, reliable, and professional attitude
• Up-to-date knowledge of the UK primary curriculum
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Reed Education)
• Two professional references covering the last 2 years
