Job Description
Position Overview 
We are pleased to offer a full time post as an Older Adult Psychiatrist covering a population of approximately 11,600 people over 65 in West of Moray. The post is based at Dr Gray's Hospital, Elgin, with inpatient beds also at Seafield Hospital, Buckie. The service works closely with general practice and local authority partners under the Integrated Joint Board.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical care for older adults, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
- Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Register with the Continuing Professional Development Programme of the Royal College of Psychiatrists - all costs covered by NHS Grampian.
- Engage in research and collaborate with the University of Aberdeen's Departments of Mental Health and Psychology.
- Participate in audit and other elements of clinical governance.
- Collaborate with the consultant team to agree a detailed job plan that balances service needs with the clinician's experience, skills and interests.
- Complete annual appraisal and contribute to re validation processes.
- Develop plans for annual and post annual appraisal, including training and audit.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a licence to practise - licence must be in place prior to starting.
- Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT, or within six months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from the date of interview.
- Applicants following the CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) or Portfolio Pathway route must hold the specialist registration before applying.
- Those with an International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by the GMC should have confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
