Kitchen Porter

Contract: Full Time , Permanent
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 40 per week

An independent co educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 2 to 18 in Street, Somerset. Catering for around 1,300 students daily. We provide a core feeding offer of breakfast, lunch and supper, along with vibrant hospitality provision. This is a term time only contract and operates Monday to Friday, with additional weekend residential activity for boarders. A key benefit to this location is the extensive campus setting and outstanding facilities in the heart of the Somerset countryside.

We are offering a position in Kitchen Porter at our prestigious location in Somerset.

Responsibilities

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials, including air filter and extraction systems
• Operate industrial dishwasher

Requirements

• Kitchen Porter experience preferred, but not essential
• Organisation skills
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable or good understanding and use of verbal English
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable or good standard of written English and reading skills
• Similar experience of customer and/or food preparation environment preferred
