Job Description

Kitchen Assistant at Allington Court Care Home, Lye Lane, Bricket Wood, St Albans AL2 3TN.

Location: Allington Court Care Home, Lye Lane, Bricket Wood, St Albans AL2 3TN.

Pay: £13.30 per hour, Permanent part-time contract.

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents.
• Assist chefs in plating meals, preparing food trolleys and ensuring all preparation areas remain clean and tidy.
• Monitor stock rotation, comply with company policies and procedures, and follow mandatory COSHH and HACCP guidelines.
• Assist with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.

Key Skills / Qualifications

• A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Deliver an excellent service at each meal and make residents feel at home.
• Maintain high standards in and around the home.
• Communicate comfortably with the wider kitchen and care home teams.
