Kitchen Assistant

Job Overview

Kitchen Assistant at Green Gates Care Home, 2 Hernes Road, Summertown, Oxford OX2 7PT. Permanent full time contract, 40 hours per week, 4 days per week including alternate weekends.

Salary: £13.10 to £14.10 per hour, dependent on experience.

Location and Environment

Green Gates offers residential, nursing, palliative, post operative and respite care. The home has a relaxed, homely atmosphere with beautiful gardens, communal areas and private dining facilities. All rooms are en suite with Wi Fi and Smart TV.

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents.
• Assist the chef to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and keep preparation areas clean and tidy.
• Monitor stock rotation, comply with company policies and procedures, and follow mandatory COSHH and HACCP guidelines.
• Assist with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.

Key Skills / Qualifications

• Passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Ability to deliver excellent service at each meal and make residents feel at home.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork.
