Kitchen Assistant

Job Overview

Kitchen Assistant at Aston Court Care Home, Little Aston Hall Drive, Little Aston, Sutton Coldfield.

Salary: £12.75 per hour, including Bupa benefits. Permanent contract, 22 hours per week, alternating weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents.
• Assist chefs in plating meals, preparing food trolleys, and ensuring all preparation areas remain clean and tidy.
• Monitor stock rotation and comply with company policies, mandatory COSHH and HACCP guidelines.
• Assist with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.

Qualifications & Skills

• Passion for food with previous kitchen experience.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Commitment to delivering excellent service and making residents feel at home.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and care home teams and communicate effectively.
