Job Description

Position: Kitchen Assistant

Salary: NJC, Pay point 2 - £28,617 per annum (pro rata)

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 10:15am to 2.00pm, 18.75 hours per week - Term Time Only

Contract Term: Fixed Term (1 Year Contract, with the possibility of extension)

Closing Date: Sunday 10th May 2026

Interviews: Week Commencing 18th May 2026

Start date: To start as soon as possible

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a Kitchen Assistant to join our excellent school team.

Responsibilities
  • An experienced Kitchen Assistant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Assist in the preparation of school lunches for the whole school, considering allergies and dietary needs
  • Maintain kitchen and food safety standards
  • Support the School's emphasis on pupils' health and wellbeing
  • Comply with Food Safety legislation
  • Work with our Head Chef to meet deadlines
  • Be a warm person with a good sense of humour and strong team ethics
