To be successful as a KDB Engineer within this team, you should have:
- Extensive years of KDB experience
- Extensive years of experience in the financial industry
- Understanding of large data platforms/Data lakes
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Experience with KDB data migration to AWS
- Experience working in Credit products
- Collaborating closely with Quant/Desk for analytics
You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology skills, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role would be based out of our Canary Wharf Office.
Purpose of the roleTo build and maintain systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes, ensuring all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.
Accountabilities- Build and maintain data architecture pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete, and consistent data.
- Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes that manage appropriate data volumes and velocity, adhering to security measures.
- Develop processing and analysis algorithms suitable for the data's complexity and volume.
- Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
- Contribute to strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change. Manage resources, budgets, and policies; deliver continuous improvements; escalate breaches.
- If managing a team, define roles, plan for future needs, counsel on performance, and contribute to pay decisions. Lead specialists to influence operations, balance goals, and ensure budgets and schedules meet requirements.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors: Listen and be authentic, Energise and inspire, Align across the enterprise, Develop others.
- For individual contributors, serve as a subject matter expert, guide technical direction, lead assignments, and mentor less experienced staff.
- Advise stakeholders on impact and alignment, manage risks, and demonstrate leadership in risk management and controls.
- Collaborate across functions, develop innovative solutions, and build trusting relationships with stakeholders.
