Junior Software Engineer (Data)

The Role

You will work with a global team to understand, develop and maintain data infrastructure. This could mean implementing a data pipeline based on development standards and a design document, or troubleshooting a piece of broken infrastructure while communicating the status with a stakeholder. As part of the core team supporting the data platform, everything you do is upstream from entire swathes of the business. We are currently undergoing efforts to modernize our data infrastructure, which means a key part of the role will be learning about why things are the way they are, and how we can do them better. You will be supported by a team of senior and junior engineers.

Critical Attributes, Skills and Experience

• Passion for software development, data and learning

• 0,5 - 2 years of experience writing code, particularly SQL, Python, shell scripting

• Ability to debug software, use git and diagram basic systems

• Collaborate with team members to solve problems and identify opportunities for improvement

• Data analysis and statistics knowledge

Nice to Have

• Experience with Teradata, Spark or Databricks

• Knowledge of the airline or travel industries
