Job Description

This company operates in renewable energy solutions using used batteries. They design and produce innovative Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) that contribute to a greener future.


They are looking for a motivated Junior Software Developer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will:

  • Maintain and improve the Power Management System (PMS) - a crucial part of our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of new features, device support, and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Play an active role in creating software frameworks for emerging technologies.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize the existing Power Management System (PMS) to ensure reliable performance.
  • Develop and implement new features to meet evolving requirements.
  • Add support for additional hardware such as inverters and Battery Management Systems (BMS).
  • Improve the GUI (Graphical User Interface) to enhance the user experience for internal clients.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of an AWS-based dashboard for monitoring and analytics.
  • Bridge the gap between customers and system interfaces by improving remote monitoring capabilities.
  • Assist in setting up a new software framework for the Battery Management System (BMS) currently under development.
  • Actively seek solutions for external data connections and cybersecurity to ensure safe and reliable system operation.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in software engineering, electrical engineering, automation or a related field.
  • Programming skills: Mastery of embedded C for the development of Battery Management Systems (BMS).
  • Development frameworks: understanding of programming within real-time operating systems.
  • Hardware knowledge: basic knowledge of inverters, BMS and their integration into power systems.
  • Cyber security: Awareness of secure data communication practices.
  • GUI design: Ability to design and improve user interfaces for internal applications.
  • Cooperation: Strong team player with good communication skills.


Plus points:

  • Experience with cloud integrations or IoT solutions.
  • Experience with Wago PLC programming (Codesys) or similar industrial automation systems.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial automation hardware.
  • Dashboard tools: Familiarity with Grafana for monitoring and visualisation.
  • Communication protocols: Knowledge of Modbus, CANbus and similar industrial communication protocols.
  • A passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
