About Your New EmployerSigmar Recruitment are working alongside an established Construction Contractor in Galway who are looking for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team!
About Your New Role as Junior Quantity SurveyorOur client is seeking a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Galway. The successful candidate will be trained to eventually be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects within construction projects, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is looking to gain a full-time career within the construction industry.
- Monitor and report on project costs, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying areas for cost control.
- Assist with procurement processes, including tendering, supplier negotiations, and subcontractor management.
- Review project specifications and drawings to identify cost effective solutions and provide value engineering input.
- Manage variations and changes to the scope of works, ensuring they are accurately valued and documented.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements.
- Provide regular progress reports, including cost forecasting and final account preparation.
- liaison with clients, contractors, and project team to ensure seamless communication and successful project delivery.
- Assist with contract administration and dispute resolution as required.
- Experience is preferred but not essential.
- Willingness to learn and start along term career within the Construction Industry.
- 6 months+ experience within the Irish Construction Industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.
