Job Description

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Project Lead to join our team in Rotherham, UK. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all technical operations of the business, client liaison and ensuring that the quality of service is maintained within the AHK Group Solid Fuels business in its execution of work with regard to sample preparation, sampling, consulting, surveying and inspection activity services. You will provide technical advice and support across all fuel streams to ensure that an efficient and high-quality service is provided in order to meet the required internationally recognised standards.

Working with the Operations Manager, you will ensure that there is efficient and effective management of all resources and support full alignment with the company's ISO 17025 accreditation, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful at Alfred H Knight, you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to organise, effectively manage manpower, evaluate operational requirements and determine logical conclusions based on experience and methodologies.
  • Highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inform others.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, internally and externally.
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative in a dynamic work environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong quality focus with a strive for excellence.
  • Highly proficient in IT skills - Microsoft and Google applications.
  • Full competency and understanding of Citrix.

Required Work Experience

  • Experience working in a client-facing role, with excellent customer service skills and technical knowledge.
  • Experience in writing reports.
  • Experience in managing people.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inspection and sample preparation analysis, in particular working with coal/biomass and RDF business streams.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with multiple management levels.

Required Qualifications

  • Qualification in Engineering or Laboratory testing.

Travel

  • The role is based in the UK and will require both UK and international travel.
  • Travel and work rotations will be dictated by work schedules and the needs of the business.
