JUNIOR ELECTRONICS ENGINEER - LOUVAIN-LA-NEUVE (BELGIUM) - PERMANENT POSITION

We're currently recruiting a Junior Electronics Engineer for a permanent position located in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of innovative electronic systems and products across a range of industries.

You'll be involved in everything from schematic design and PCB layout to embedded firmware development and hands-on prototyping.

This is a broad, hands-on engineering role ideal for someone who enjoys learning by doing and wants to work across the full electronics development lifecycle. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced engineers, apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges, and gain exposure to multiple areas including digital/analog design, embedded systems, product testing, and, optionally, RF and wireless systems.

Whether you're debugging your first circuit or writing embedded code to control a sensor, you'll be a key part of a team building next-generation electronic products. This position is perfect for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is eager to grow their technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and simulation of analog and digital electronic circuits. Contribute to component selection and BOM generation, with attention to cost, sourcing, and performance.
  • Create and modify schematics and PCB layouts using tools like Altium, KiCad, or Eagle. Apply good practices for signal integrity, EMC, and design-for-manufacture (DFM).
  • Write and debug embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, AVR). Develop drivers for sensors, actuators, and interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, and GPIO.
  • Assemble and bring up prototypes. Perform functional testing and debugging using lab tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters). Assist in refining test procedures and supporting production hand-off.
  • Maintain up-to-date engineering documentation, including schematics, PCB revisions, firmware architecture, and test logs to ensure traceability and support future development.
  • Work closely with mechanical, software, and production teams to integrate electronics into larger systems. Participate in design reviews and contribute to project planning and problem-solving discussions.
  • Help prepare designs for regulatory certification (e.g., CE, FCC, RoHS). Assist in pre-compliance testing and documentation under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Support RF design and testing (e.g., antenna evaluation, signal measurements, wireless performance) if experienced or interested. Exposure to protocols such as LoRa, BLE, or Wi-Fi is a bonus.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Solid foundation in analog and digital circuit theory and design.
  • Basic experience with embedded programming in C/C++.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle).
  • Proficient with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.).
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to team-based development

The Offer:

  • A permanent, full-time employment contract
  • A salary & benefits package commensurate with experience
