Job Evaluation Partner

This newly created role within the Pay and Reward team will act as our lead job evaluation specialist, ensuring our processes are robust, objective and compliant, and that they support our wider commitment to equality, fairness and organisational performance.
You will be the council's subject matter expert, leading the delivery of an effective and professional job evaluation service and providing impartial, expert advice to managers and HR colleagues.
What you'll be doing:- Quality assure job descriptions, person specifications, and evaluation documentation and provide feedback to managers where required
- Coordinate and participate in weekly evaluation panels
- Develop and maintain policy, procedures and templates to support a high quality job evaluation service
- Maintain accurate files of evaluation documentation including job descriptions and questionnaire, scoring and outcomes
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and documentation and implement changes.
- Conduct research and analysis on pay and reward subjects including salary benchmarking for hard to fill roles and retention
- Contribute to wider HR and reward projects and collaborate with colleagues across HR & OD
- Proven experience in job evaluation either as an analyst or in a similar role such as HR business partner or adviser where job evaluation was a large element of the role
- Strong knowledge and accreditation in Korn Ferry Hay job evaluation methodology, and ideally an understanding of schemes used within local government
- A solid understanding of equal pay issues and how job evaluation contributes to reducing risk
- Experience in local government, public sector or third sector.
- Strong project management capability.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- High standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confidence working with stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
Full time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with time split between working from home and our Tooley Street offices.

Salary Range (Full time equivalent) £45,852 - £53,319
