Java-architect

HAYS IT is assisting one of their clients, an insurance company, in their search for a freelance Java Architect who is willing to work part-time. The company is located in Ghent.

Mission:

• You will be part of a large-scale project for the development of HR administration & payroll frontend solutions aimed at the "midsized employers" customer segment.
• You will support the lead technology architect in the continuous guidance of the project. You will further elaborate analyses and work out technical solutions in more detail. You will work in close interaction with the lead technology architect who directly supervises you.
• You will be part of a "dedicated" project team consisting of a product owner, project manager, architect (both business and technology), scrum master, analysts, and multiple development teams.

Function:

• Developing technical solutions: proposing architecture, evaluating, and suggesting choices that are adapted to the functional needs.
• Ensuring a pragmatic balance between robustness and simplicity.
• You will help determine the development standards and the overall technical framework.
• You will support analysts, project managers, and developers in projects.
• Modeling and documenting architecture (including ArchiMate and C4).

The ideal candidate has:

• Experience in designing microservices/applications in Java Spring Boot, SQL, REST APIs, etc.
• Knowledge of Azure PaaS services such as EventHub, ServiceBus, Cosmos DB, SQL Server.
• Experience with design patterns to build robust and scalable solutions.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Java solutions and frameworks.
• Experience in an HR Services environment (payroll & administration) is a plus.

• Duration: 26/05/2025 - 31/12/2025 (8 months, part-time 3/5)
