Java API Engineer

Our cliente is looking for a Java API Engineer to work on the development and evolution of APIs in microservices architecture, joining an international team.

Job context:

•The position is part of an existing two-person team, with a remote Team Lead (outside Portugal), responsible for creating an API framework for the company's various business areas.

•The challenge is to support the different business areas in the development of APIs accessible to external customers, providing building blocks, documentation and training to enable their deployment.

•The team works in Agile mode (sprints) and in a highly collaborative manner with the Team Lead. In the future (target system), these functions should become an extension in Portugal of the Design Authority, helping to disseminate best practices, support recruitment and technical development.

Technical skills:

•APIs: API Composition, BFF, API Gateway

•Design of Java services and components in a Microservices ecosystem

•API documentation: Swagger, OpenAPI, JSON, YAML

•Writing organisational Best Practices

•Java (V8-V11)

•Spring / Spring Boot V2+, Spring Data, JPA, Hibernate

•Spring Security and Authentication & Authorisation in APIs

•Creation of POCs and Hello World to demonstrate frameworks/libraries

•Jenkins V2+ (create or modify jobs)

•Docker

•Splunk V8+ and API Monitoring

•API Publishing (SwaggerHub, Spotify Backstage, etc.)

•API performance optimisation

•Supporting teams in API architecture/design reusable

Languages:

•English: B2 / advanced

•French: A1 / basic
