Reports to: Head of Service Design, Business Analysis & Projects, ITO
Working pattern: Monday - Friday. This is a full-time permanent position on Crick terms and conditions of employment
We offer a flexible working model, a hybrid of office (based in St Pancras, London) and home working. As this role is stakeholder facing, there will be an expectation to attend the office 2-3 times a week, or more, as required.

About the role

The Information Technology Office (ITO) within The Francis Crick Institute is responsible for the implementation and operation of all IT functions which manage the running of the institute and enablement of science, along with the publication and library services provided to scientists.
Within ITO, the Service Design, Business Analysis & Projects team sits at the centre of Crick people, process and technology to ensure a portfolio of technology projects are scoped, designed and deployed in the best way to deliver business outcomes, in line with Crick Strategy.
You will be responsible for the management of a number of ITO projects across Science and Operations functions, leading on all aspects of the project lifecycle.
This delivery focused role will work across the Crick Science and Operations, to ensure timely implementation of technology outcomes.
This role suits a self-starter who can take ownership of multiple projects concurrently, identifying and unblocking issues as appropriate, collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive the project forward.
Additionally, you will support the prioritisation, planning and tracking of a wider portfolio of projects within ITO, managed currently by other ITO team leads.
This involves gathering and analysing project information so that the status of the portfolio is transparent and any required interventions can be identified and actioned.
What you will be doing
As a ITO Project Manager / Portfolio Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Delivery of a broad range of ITO projects, covering different technologies
- Working with project stakeholders, keeping them engaged and informed through appropriate collaboration, reporting and governance channels
- Managing third-party vendors and system implementation partners where required
- Managing the ITO Project pipeline, working with stakeholders and technical teams across ITO to track and prioritise a portfolio of projects, including plans, resources and forecasts

About you
You will:
- Demonstrate previous experience of working as a Project manager
- Create and maintain project lifecycle documents according to need e.g. project definition, project plans, milestone tracking, RAID logs, project closure, lessons learned
- Work on multiple projects concurrently, varying in size and complexity
- Need a good understanding of technical concepts e.g. identity management, software development, technical infrastructure
