For the Communication and Information Center (kiz) - Information Systems Department we are looking for a

IT System Architect as
Service Owner Document & Workflow Management Systems (m/f/d)

With around 140 employees, kiz is the second largest central institution at Ulm University and provides services in the areas of library, information technology and media for research, teaching and administration.

The advertised position offers you the opportunity to actively participate in the conceptual planning & further development of the central document management system d.3 documents in a responsible position. In this exciting and challenging phase, you can expect a wide range of tasks. You will make an important contribution to the digitalization of central university processes and help shape sustainable IT solutions.

Your profile:

  • Completed scientific university degree (university diploma or master's degree) in (business) computer science or a comparable qualification
  • In-depth knowledge of the structure and function of operational, database & workflow management systems, file plans and the methods of agile and classic project management
  • Detailed knowledge of file systems, networks, technical IT security in the area of operating systems and the application systems used
  • Basic knowledge of ITIL v3, BSI IT-Grundschutz, EU-DSGVO
  • Basic knowledge of English and very good written and spoken German (C2)
  • Ability to work in a team, under pressure, independent working style and strong communication skills

Your tasks:

  • Conceptual planning, further development and responsible operation of the DMS & WMS as the basis for administrative processes in the areas of personnel, finance, campus management & research information
  • Analysis of the technical options for implementing and operating the system based on the technical framework conditions at Ulm University
  • Design and continuous further development of the distributed system landscape of the DMS and WMS system applications
  • Analysis and resolution of functional and performance-related problems in a complex system
  • Conception, further development and responsibility of role and rights concepts for the connected systems and authorized users
  • Design and further development of the technical mapping of the file structure for all areas of central administration
  • Contract negotiation and license management with the provider and service providers for the software product used in coordination with the team and department management
