With a newly acquired UK AOC, Ascend Airways is operating a small fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft (NG and MAX) in the ACMI market, opening its first operational base at London Gatwick in early 2024. The company is part of Avia Solutions Group, the world's largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, operating a fleet of 221 aircraft across 6 continents.
The group also offers a range of aviation services including MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul), pilot and crew training, ground handling, and other related services. Supported by 14,000 skilled aviation professionals, the group is the parent company to over 250 subsidiaries.
Ascend Airways is seeking candidates for the position of IT Support within our growing airline.
Reporting to the IT Support Manager, the IT Support will be responsible for maintaining the company's IT and communication systems, providing technical support to staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of systems. The role includes monitoring and maintaining computer systems, installing and configuring hardware and software, and resolving technical issues.
Responsibilities:
- Provide IT support to office-based and remote staff, responding promptly to service issues and requests.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT systems, including hardware, software, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Collaborate with the UK and Lithuania IT teams to maintain and improve IT infrastructure.
- Assist the IT Support Manager with administrative duties and IT processes.
- Maintain the asset log and manage the return of company property.
- Set up accounts and equipment for new users.
Candidate Attributes and Experience:
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking principles.
- Knowledge of PC hardware and troubleshooting hardware issues.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with MS Azure, Entra, Intune, SharePoint, and Power Automate is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with MacOS, iPadOS, and iOS environments.
- Prior experience in a junior IT support role is desirable.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of internet and network security principles and protocols.
Other Requirements:
- Right to live and work in the UK.
- Ability to travel between sites as required.
