Role: IT Site Operations Engineer

Location: United Kingdom - London

Job Overview

The IT Site Operations team are the most hands on team within the Tech department. Working closely with other IT Support Teams in Metro Bank, the team provides hands on support at our sites (Stores and Amaze Direct), bridging the gap between the sites and the other IT teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain all IT equipment within stores, including but not limited to PCs, IP phones, digital displays, printers, tablets and other specialist equipment that has within its stores.
  • Complete bi monthly IT health checks on all IT equipment in store and report findings to Store Managers and IT Tech Leads.
  • Manage your own time to complete incidents and requests on ServiceNow within the agreed service level agreements.
  • Support the training of Store colleagues on the correct use and troubleshooting of IT equipment.
  • Create and amend procedure documentation to share knowledge with internal colleagues and the extended IT teams.
  • Identify areas within IT that have defects or can be improved, and raise these to Team Leaders and extended IT teams to investigate root causes and implement changes.
  • Report major incidents and, when required, help troubleshoot root cause, impact and resolution with the IM team.
  • Work with the Live IT Operations management team on Metro Bank IT infrastructure projects, including store openings, closures, equipment rollouts and software updates - both in and out of hours.
  • Work with the Security team to reduce risk and threats against business operations, ensuring Service Requests are backed up with correct approvals to satisfy client security policies and comply with audit requirements.
  • Provide ad hoc assistance to other teams such as Desktop Support and 1st Line Support.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with installing, troubleshooting, and fixing a variety of hardware devices and associated peripherals.
  • The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload so tasks are completed within SLA's.
  • Great customer service skills and enthusiasm for helping others.
  • In depth knowledge of Azure, Intune and Active Directory is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of network design & management including routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP and wireless LAN/WAN.
  • Previous experience with ServiceNow; the majority of the workload will be split between ServiceNow, tickets, routine service procedures and project work.
  • A full, clean UK manual driver's licence.
