On behalf of Tesco Bank, AMS are now looking for an IT Project Manager (Payments) based in Edinburgh (hybrid model) for a 12-month contract.

Purpose of the role:
The Project Manager will demonstrate proven experience in banking and payments to lead a series of high-impact financial services initiatives.

The role will be focusing on managing the separation of payments infrastructure as well as overseeing multiple concurrent payments and banking projects including strategic platform transitions.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Playing an important part in leading the delivery of payments separation, including residual work and requirements analysis.
  • Managing several projects simultaneously across banking and payments domains.
  • Overseeing the transition of payment platforms, ensuring minimal disruption and full compliance.
  • Driving change initiatives using ServiceNow, processes and structured testing cycles.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across internal teams, third-party vendors and external partners.
  • Ensuring successful implementation of payment transaction processing systems.
  • Maintaining momentum on mandatory BAU work while delivering strategic improvements.

Key requirements of the role include:

  • Strong technical project management background, ideally within banking product environments.
  • Financial services experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated success in managing change and delivering IT transformation projects.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, testing frameworks and CAB governance.
  • Solid understanding of payment platforms and transaction processing.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and stakeholders.

Desirable criteria includes:

  • Previous involvement in banking separation projects or payment infrastructure migrations (desirable)
  • Familiarity with payment platforms (eg Bottom Line, Flake, WorldPay).
