The Vacancy
We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Project Manager to join our Group IT team in Leatherhead. The primary focus of this role will be to manage projects on a day-to-day basis, establishing the structure, roles, and teams, developing, and maintaining plans, identifying, and managing risks, along with effectively monitoring and reporting on progress.
You will be part of the IT Major Projects team working on a range of Group-wide applications and infrastructure projects, with stakeholders from functions including HR, Procurement, Finance, Commercial, Safety and Sustainability.
Key accountabilities of the role will include:
- Define and agree project scope, outputs, timescale, quality, and cost criteria to ensure business requirements are understood and agreed.
- Define and establish the project structure, roles, and teams to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
- Plan, manage, monitor, and report on the work of the project and project teams to deliver the agreed scope with effective change control.
- Ensure projects comply with methodology and governance.
- Manage risks and issues effectively and play a proactive part in problem resolution.
- Ensure effective management and reporting of all project stages to provide structure and control throughout the project lifecycle including management of entry/exit criteria for each stage.
- Demonstrate a collaborative approach and willingness to step outside project management role boundaries when necessary to deliver successfully.
- Proven experience in supplier management, including selecting, negotiating contracts, onboarding, and managing third-party vendors and service providers to ensure delivery of high-quality IT solutions and services.
- Ability to collaborate with suppliers, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of external resources into project plans.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects concurrently, with the ability to effectively prioritise and balance resources, timelines, and stakeholder expectations across two active projects simultaneously.
We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager who has been responsible for delivering projects with budgets up to £1-2m, in a variety of corporate environments.
To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter with a solid understanding of project management principles, best practices, and tools. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, attention to detail, and take the initiative to get the job done. You will be comfortable and effective in working with heads of functions and director-level stakeholders.
