The position is a permanent appointment under the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Public Sector (TVöD Bund) in Pay Grade 12. Depending on the applicant pool, an additional temporary skilled worker allowance of up to 1,500 euros per month may be considered.

What will your responsibilities be with us?
  • Development of architectural concepts for LAN/WAN environments
  • Design, installation, and operation of heterogeneous LAN/WAN environments
  • Administration of network components, networks, and Wi-Fi environments
  • Participation in, planning, implementation, and operation of cross-site network projects at BImA locations in Germany
  • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of network infrastructures
  • Cross-team and cross-site collaboration with our operations teams
  • Coordination of service providers for projects and incident response
  • User, access rights, and IP address management
  • Analysis of system requirements and identification of opportunities for optimization

We work remotely and flexibly. However, business travel-particularly on-site assignments throughout Germany-may occasionally be required at your assigned post or workplace. These business trips are generally planned well in advance to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

What do you bring to the table?
  • Education: A completed technical university degree (bachelor's or university of applied sciences degree) in computer science, business informatics, industrial engineering, or a comparable qualification. Alternatively, a career qualification for the higher technical service.
  • Experience: You have several years of experience in network management and design. You also have experience in the planning and architecture of network structures-ideally with Cisco-as well as in IT project management. You have in-depth knowledge of hardware and network components, ideally in the Cisco environment (e.g., CCNA/CCNP certified) or with comparable vendors holding corresponding certifications. Furthermore, you have knowledge of ITIL processes, including "Service Operation". You should be skilled at communicating IT innovations and at creating documentation and handouts.
  • Expertise: You possess technical proficiency in working with IT and network components. You also have experience with centralized application deployment and the ability to perform fault analysis when malfunctions or problems occur. You possess knowledge of IT law, IT compliance, data protection, and information security. You are distinguished by your strong command of technical terminology in English.
  • Personality: You are characterized by an independent and service-oriented approach to work, as well as a high level of motivation. You enjoy experimenting and take pleasure in implementing new initiatives. In addition, you possess strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a high degree of interpersonal competence.

For this position, you must be willing to undergo an extended security clearance in accordance with the Federal Security Clearance Act (SÜG2); successful completion of this clearance is a prerequisite for filling the position. SÜG2 is required for access to data centers and certain offices.
