Meet the team

RTÉ Technology drives the implementation of RTÉ's technology strategy. As part of this, the Technology Applications and Operations team is responsible for the support of several critical business systems, databases, deskside support, landline and mobile phone support. The systems supported include Finance systems, HR systems, Scheduling systems and Media Workflow systems. The main finance system in use is Business World from Unit 4.

We are looking for an experienced IT system administrator to join the Applications and Operations team.

Reporting to the Head of Applications and Operations, RTÉ Technology, you will be responsible for supporting our Finance teams by investigating and resolving issues on Business World, raising and managing cases with our supplier and carrying out required system administration tasks.

About the role
  • Support Finance teams use of Business World.
  • Investigate and resolve reported issues.
  • Raise and manage cases with external supplier.
  • Resolve issues reported by staff e.g. when raising expense claims etc.
  • Ensure automatic system processes execute as expected.
  • Change user roles, add new users, de-activate users.
About you
  • 5+ years' experience in supporting an enterprise Finance system or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate financial workflows and governance controls.
  • Experience with enterprise IT systems, including servers, storage, virtualization, cloud services, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and manage technology lifecycles and upgrades.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Third-level qualification in Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Flexibility to support planned out-of-hours work.
  • Highly proficient in the use of Excel.
Nice to have
  • Experience supporting SQL databases.
  • Scripting in Python and PowerShell.
  • Any experience with media files (audio and video).

This appointment will be made at the Broadcast Engineer grade and is being offered on a permanent contract basis. The salary scale for this grade is from €52,472 to €66,648 gross per annum.
