IT DevOps Engineer - Document Generation

Not to be missed freelance opportunity foe an experienced IT DevOps Engineer - Document Generation to design, develop and maintain business-critical document-generation solutions.

In this role, you will take ownership of the full document-generation lifecycle, with a strong focus on developing and maintaining dynamic, reusable document templates using EngageOne Designer and Compose. You will translate business requirements and document specifications into high-quality templates, while contributing to the applications, APIs and integrations that support automated document generation and distribution.

Working in an Agile DevOps team, you will be involved in development, testing, deployment, production support and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain EngageOne document templates.

• Translate business requirements, mock-ups and specifications into reusable templates.

• Configure dynamic content, conditional logic, business rules and data mappings.

• Develop and maintain Java applications, REST APIs and microservices supporting document-generation processes.

• Integrate document-generation platforms with enterprise applications and data sources.

• Test and validate templates, data mappings and generated documents.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments and release management.

• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve application and document-generation issues.

• Ensure solution quality, security, reliability and maintainability.

• Collaborate with architects, developers, product managers and business stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with EngageOne or a comparable enterprise document-generation platform.

• Experience developing document templates with dynamic data, conditional content and reusable components.

• Strong Java development experience.

• Knowledge of Quarkus or a comparable Java framework.

• Experience with REST APIs, microservices and relational databases (SQL).

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD and DevOps practices.

• Experience with automated testing and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Attention to detail and a quality-driven mindset.

Nice to Have

• Advanced EngageOne template development experience.

• Experience with complex, high-volume enterprise document-generation environments.

• Knowledge of document management and workflow solutions.

• Experience with container platforms and observability tooling.

• Experience automating document testing and validation.

• Background in banking or financial services.
