IT Applications Manager

I'm working with a respected organisation in South Yorkshire as they embark on a significant digital transformation. As part of this exciting journey, they're creating a brand-new role for an Applications Architect - an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on designing strategic, future-ready solutions.

As the IT Applications Manager, you'll lead a full audit of the current application estate and define a clear roadmap to streamline, modernise, and optimise the environment. You'll play a hands-on role in transforming how technology supports the business - with real influence and visibility across the organisation.

This is a strategic role where your technical expertise and architectural vision will directly shape operational efficiency and long-term IT capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit and assess the current applications landscape across the business.

• Design and implement a roadmap to consolidate and modernise applications.

• Provide architectural leadership across all core applications, integrations, and data platforms.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.

• Support the selection, implementation, and ongoing strategy for key platforms - including ERP and CRM systems.

• Promote best practices in governance, life cycle management, and application scalability.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in an applications-focused architecture role.

• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack, SQL Server, and data-driven applications.

• Hands-on experience managing or integrating ERP and/or CRM systems.

• Solid understanding of 3rd party software, integration methods, and vendor management.

• A strategic thinker with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
