BBC iPlayer is seeking an outstanding operations lead to drive the development of optimal business processes.
Reporting to the Head of iPlayer Operations, the role will focus on ensuring that iPlayer teams are planning, collaborating, information sharing using optimal processes, data and systems.
- Support the General Manager, BBC iPlayer, Head of Service Operations and other stakeholders in defining the optimal iPlayer operating and governance model - considering industry best practice and specific BBC needs
- Define optimal process for annual business planning, Define the approach for cross-departmental planning, prioritisation and information sharing.
- Take responsibility for defining detailed processes, information sharing and reporting protocols, meeting structures/cadence etc needed to implement an improved Op Model across all iPlayer teams
- Collaborating across teams to define how targets should be set against specific growth initiatives whilst also ensuring the process for tracking performance against targets is optimised.
- Define team requirements for data dashboard to support day-to-day business decisions and work with data and audience teams to deliver and maintain them
- Collaborate with GM, broader team as well as colleagues across the business to provide support where necessary for planning, delivery and performance tracking of special projects eg Live Events, Christmas etc
- Ensure processes are in place for information sharing, planning and collaboration with business stakeholders eg News, Sports etc. Lead the planning of meetings with stakeholders and ensure outcomes and actions are implemented
- Work with GM to plan iPlayer Quarterly Business Reviews
- Define strategic project tracking system to ensure the iPlayer Leadership Team are informed and able to input across key projects and strategies
- Support Head of Ops in defining appropriate businesses processes to improve efficiency eg sourcing, sharing or simple reversioning of assets needed by multiple teams, opportunities to utilise AI to support teams with business process etc
- Lead on internal technical training, acting as a liaison between Editorial and Growth team to ensure Editorial team is across latest Systems developments and processes

- A strong background in defining operational processes to support effective and efficient business practise
- Have strong credentials in problem solving with the ability to harness complex information and define new processes to support business needs
- Successful track record in working collaboratively across a complex organisation with the ability to drive decision-making
- Experience working with technical, creative and business teams ideally within a streaming business
- Ability to communicate complex information to stakeholders in a clear, concise way
- Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Leadership, collaboration and relationship-building skills specifically related towards aligning teams, driving decision-making and achieving cohesion
