About the role

In your role as Investment Control Analyst you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset.

This role will provide a great opportunity towork with the teams across USSIM to help ensure there is appropriate balance between investment guidelines and oversight for the investment mandates, and the monitoring controls in place are well designed and appropriate.

What you will be doing

As a trusted part of the Investment Product Management you will be responsible for:

  • Work with internal teams across investment desks, Financial Risk, compliance, legal, and operations to design and implement mandate guidelines and appropriate monitoring controls
  • Oversee the daily monitoring of Bloomberg rules, investigating and resolving any control issues or breaches
  • Maintain and regularly update the investment rules repository to ensure accurate and current mandate documentation
  • Lead on the implementation and oversight of USS scheme-wide investment exclusions
  • Support the Best Execution and Research Review Committee, including preparation, reporting, and ongoing monitoring
  • Monitor and oversee trade overrides, amendments, breaches, waivers, and ensure appropriate escalation and documentation
  • Drive the enhancement of governance processes, policies, and documentation to support robust investment monitoring
  • Oversee and report on internal and external mandate costs and charges, ensuring transparency and compliance

  • Strong technical investment knowledge and understanding of regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing documents and data
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work effectively across teams
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and commercial awareness
  • Experience using Bloomberg, particularly VMGR and CMGR modules
