Inventory Team Lead

The successful candidate will be responsible for the inventory control system, maintaining product data, rectifying miscalculations, reviewing and analysing operations results, reporting findings to management, and making recommendations for improvement as necessary.

What will you be doing?

• Lead and facilitate Inventory Team
• Conduct daily briefs to ensure all stock controllers have specific tasks
• Ensure all stock functions are carried out daily
• Carry out return to work and one to one meetings
• Be the WMS specialist in the Inventory Team and train new starters in WMS functions
• Investigate problems and analyse root causes
• Daily cycle counting as per PI schedule and customer requirements
• Daily putaway and outbound checks to ensure operations are following correct processes
• Liaise with Operations team on warehouse queries including nil picks and stock discrepancies
• Daily empty location checks
• Fixed pick face set up as and when required, ensuring all system data is correct
• Train the operation on inventory functions and new WMS processes as required
• Carry out consolidation to ensure DC is always at maximum efficiency
• Carry out adjustments as requested by supervisor / customer
• Populate error logs with any discrepancies found during the check process and escalated to stock supervisor
• Provide general operations support when requested

About You

• Minimum of GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent) with good verbal and written English
• Previous experience working within a warehouse environment
• Understanding of basic health and safety principles
• Use own initiative to proactively suggest improvements in procedures
• Ability to plan and manage own time effectively
