International Accountant

Position Overview

Accountant - International Finance, Dublin. Full time position reporting to the Senior International Finance Manager. The role supports timely and accurate financial reporting, maintains a strong internal control environment, and ensures compliance with US GAAP and statutory requirements for our international subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

• Manage day to day, monthly and quarterly international accounting activities.
• Handle US GAAP and statutory accounting and compliance for multiple international Etsy subsidiaries.
• Own US GAAP reporting: manage month end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal reporting for Etsy International entities.
• Own local statutory compliance: prepare financial statements and manage audits to meet local legislation.
• Perform monthly analytics for each subsidiary.
• Drive continuous improvement through standardisation, automation, process re engineering, and the adoption of AI enabled tools.
• Partner with cross functional teams, including international business partners, SEC reporting, treasury for banking and liquidity, and the internal payroll team.
• Adapt to changing duties as required by Etsy's discretion or local legal requirements.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification: ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Approximately 1 year post qualification experience in a similar environment.
• Strong background in financial accounting with solid understanding of principles and practical application.
• Experience with ERP systems; exposure to Workday a distinct advantage.
• Highly organised, adaptable, with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks to completion, and meet commitments while seeking support when needed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships in a distributed environment.
• Detail oriented with a proactive improvement mindset and interest in new technologies and AI enabled solutions.

Benefits

Salary range: €52,000 - €68,000. Eligible for equity package, annual performance bonus, and competitive benefits package. Requires presence in Etsy's Dublin office once or twice per week, depending on proximity.
