Internal Audit SME - Cryptocurrency - London Hybrid (4 days onsite) - 6 months

I have an immediate opportunity for an Internal Audit SME with cryptocurrency audit expertise to support trading desk reviews within a global Equity environment, focusing on sales & trading desks active in derivatives linked to crypto assets.

You'll be brought in as a subject matter expert to shape and run audits of trading desks involved in market making of derivatives referencing cryptocurrency ETFs and futures. The role exists to strengthen the design and testing of controls around these activities, ensuring audit coverage and techniques are appropriate for the specific risks in this space.

You'll work closely with Internal Audit and Front Office stakeholders to define audit scope and test plans, apply alternative testing techniques where needed, and support the reporting phase by clearly articulating control gaps and required remediation.

You'll focus on:

• Advising on suitable audit scope and testing approaches for crypto-linked derivative trading desks
• Designing and reviewing control testing plans tailored to sales & trading activities
• Executing testing, assessing control design and operating effectiveness, and highlighting control gaps
• Supporting audit reporting, including drafting observations on control framework weaknesses

We're looking for:

• Strong cryptocurrency experience combined with a background in audit
• Proven experience auditing sales & trading desks, specifically market making in derivatives referencing cryptocurrency assets
• Solid knowledge of internal audit methodologies, with the ability to refine and improve audit approaches
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders in a Front Office/markets environment
• Proficiency with MS Office (including Excel pivot tables, Access, PowerPoint and Word)
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight reporting and project deadlines
