Job Description

Are you a Social Housing Rent Accounting specialist who can hit the ground running? Do you have experience setting rents and advising on complex housing scenarios? Can you provide short-term leadership whilst covering a critical gap in a busy Income team?

My client is seeking an Interim Rent Accounting Manager for an initial 6-8 week assignment. This is a hands-on role focused on rent setting, rent policy and providing leadership to a small Income team during a period of absence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading on rent setting and rent policy matters
  • Advising on complex rent scenarios, including supported housing and new developments
  • Managing bad debt provisions and former tenant arrears
  • Supporting escalated resident rent queries
  • Providing day-to-day leadership across the Income team

This is a genuine specialist role. Whilst there is some team management responsibility, the priority is securing an experienced rent professional who understands the legislation, technical requirements and practical challenges surrounding rent setting within Social Housing. Hybrid working is on offer in an easy accessible Hertfordshire office.

To be considered, please meet these criteria:

  • Extensive Social Housing rent accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of rent setting legislation and policy
  • Experience managing complex rent scenarios
  • Ability to work autonomously from day one
  • Previous team leadership experience would be beneficial
