Job Description

Cedar are supporting a key Public Sector client based in the North East of England who are looking to hire an Interim Procurement Category Manager. This role is for an initial 6 months (potential to extend) and offers a Day Rate from £475 up to £550 (INSIDE IR35). The role will operate on a hybrid working basis with the expectation to be on-site 2 days per month (expenses not included).

Reporting into the Head of Procurement & Contracts the successful candidate will be responsible for managing end to end Procurement projects, in line with the new Procurement Act 2023. Requirements will be for a range of Goods and Services so candidates will need a background in a range of Categories and ideally will have exposure to a range of contract types such as i.e. JCT and NEC. You will be responsible for managing key stakeholders and helping ensure compliance and value for money is achieved on all work completed.

Candidates applying MUST HAVE:

  • experience working in a similar role in the UK Public Sector - track record of working in a Procurement and/or Category Management role is required
  • experience in a wide range of Categories such as Corporate Services, Professional Services, FM, ICT, Construction etc. is required
  • completed the new Procurement Act 2023 training
