Interim PMO Manager

Day rate: £600 - £650 Inside IR35
Location: London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced PMO Manager to join a rail organisation on an interim basis. This role will play a key part in delivering high quality risk management services that support programme delivery, reduce uncertainty and drive best practice.

You will work within a busy PMO, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders to ensure the consistent application of risk management processes and the production of high-quality insight and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective risk management activities that reduce exposure and uncertainty across the programme
  • Support the development and implementation of risk management systems, procedures and tools
  • Facilitate workshops and engage with stakeholders to support effective decision making
  • Lead on risk analysis using recognised industry systems and produce clear, concise reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying enhancements to risk management processes and tools
  • Work collaboratively within the PMO and maintain high professional standards aligned to programme expectations
Essential experience
  • Experience in a PMO management role in the rail sector
  • PMO background within a programme environment
  • Strong experience delivering risk management within complex programmes
  • Confident facilitating workshops and conducting risk management reviews with qualitative scoring
  • Understanding of how risk management integrates with project management and project controls, including planning, cost estimating and contract management
  • Skilled in risk management systems and reporting, with the ability to interpret data and present insights clearly
  • Experience improving or developing risk management tools and processes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
