The Opportunity

Eaton Syalon are supporting a well-established SME in Derbyshire to recruit an Interim Management Accountant.

This is a hands-on role within a small, busy finance team, supporting the Finance Controller across a broad range of activities. There is an immediate need for someone who can come in, add value quickly, and help bring structure and momentum to the finance function - with an opportunity for the role to become permanent for the right individual.

The Role

This is a varied and commercially focused position, suited to someone who enjoys being close to the detail while also improving how things are done.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Supporting with clearing a backlog of financial information and reconciliations
• Balance sheet reviews and ensuring strong controls
• Assisting with month-end processes and reporting timelines
• Identifying and implementing process improvements
• Supporting wider finance activities including support with transactional activities as required within a growing SME environment

About You

We're looking for a "doer" - someone who is proactive, adaptable, and comfortable rolling up their sleeves.

You will likely:

• Be a QBE or part-qualified accountant with strong SME experience
• Have a solid grounding in management accounts preparation
• Be confident working autonomously and adding value quickly
• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Enjoy working as part of a close-knit team
