Interim Head of Legal Immediate Requirement

Interim Assignment Predominantly Remote with Occasional Travel (TBD)

We are partnering with a large international organisation seeking an immediately available senior legal leader to provide operational and strategic support during a critical period of organisational change.

This is a high-impact assignment requiring a commercially minded legal leader who can quickly establish control, create structure, manage priorities and build credibility across senior stakeholder groups. Previous experience operating within large, complex and matrixed organisations is essential.

The Role

Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee a busy legal function spanning multiple businesses and jurisdictions, acting as a trusted adviser and key coordination point between operational stakeholders and the Group Legal team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing legal leadership and operational oversight
• Prioritising and managing a high-volume legal workload
• Driving governance, structure and decision-making processes
• Coordinating legal input into corporate transactions and due diligence activities
• Managing commercial legal matters, escalations and specialist issues
• Overseeing external legal advisers where required
• Identifying capability gaps and supporting longer-term solutions
• Managing stakeholder communications across multiple business units

About You

You will bring:

• Experience in senior interim legal leadership positions
• A strong in-house legal background within large corporate environments
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
• The ability to assess situations quickly and implement structure
• Commercially pragmatic legal judgement
• Resilience, autonomy and the confidence to challenge appropriately
• Proven experience managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments

Desirable Experience

• Interim Head of Legal, Legal Director, Deputy General Counsel or General Counsel experience
• Large multinational and matrix organisations
• M&A, divestments, restructuring and transformation programmes
• Experience within multinational commercial organisations
• Commercial contracts and corporate transactions
• Managing external legal counsel and specialist advisers
