About the Role

This role is to recruit an Interim Director of Legal and Monitoring Officer for a local authority in Yorkshire. The post involves leading the legal, democratic, data protection and complaints teams and taking on statutory Monitoring Officer duties as part of the senior leadership team. The role supports hybrid working with in-office presence expected at least one day per week.

Responsibilities

• Leading the legal, democratic, data protection and complaints teams
• Taking on the statutory Monitoring Officer duties
• Sitting within the senior leadership team for the authority
• Hybrid working with at least one day per week in office
• Dealing with code of conduct breaches, member complaints
• Attending full council meetings

Qualifications and Desirable Skills

• Senior and strategic profile with experience at Director level or as Monitoring Officer
• Experience in the public sector, specifically within local authorities
