Intelligence Analyst
Posted 6 hours 48 minutes ago by Prevail
This is an exciting opportunity to provide operational intelligence support against major security threats in West Africa. The Intelligence Analysts are on Prevail's London based intelligence team, working across the full intelligence cycle to produce clear, actionable insight using open source, commercially available, and partner provided information.
Based in our London office, the role works in close coordination with both the London Intelligence manager and the forward deployed Senior Intelligence Liaison Officer, who provides forward facing engagement with host nation military and intelligence partners. While the Liaison Officer contextualises and prioritises intelligence requirements in deployed environments, the Intelligence Analyst translates these requirements into high quality assessments, briefings, and analytical products that directly support operational decision making.
The Intelligence Analyst is responsible for collating, evaluating, and analysing information; supporting network, trend, and geospatial analysis; and producing high quality intelligence reporting, quality assurance, and information management.
This is a hybrid role, based 4 days a week at our office in Victoria, London.
About YouWe're looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is proactive, detail oriented, and aligned with our commitment to excellence. You are comfortable operating in fast paced, complex environments and can adapt quickly to evolving or ambiguous requirements while maintaining analytical rigour.
You are technically curious, solutions focused, and confident balancing detailed investigative work with broader strategic thinking.
Key Responsibilities- Produce high quality operational intelligence products ranging from immediate, tactical reporting to strategic trend analysis and assessments across a variety of outputs including daily updates, intelligence briefings and longer form reports.
- Analyse commercially available geospatial data to identify patterns of life, key locations, and movement trends, while understanding inherent data limitations and quality considerations.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams to identify relationships, structures, and linkages using established network mapping methodologies.
- Monitor, track, and assess events using a range of open source material, including traditional media and social media, to support both tactical reporting and longer term analysis.
- Work closely with specialist data and technical teams, clearly articulating requirements and interpreting outputs to inform analysis.
- Identify, manage, and escalat potential legal or ethical risks associated with data use and content exposure.
- 2 - 4 years' experience in an intelligence analysis role. Previous roles ideally within government, law enforcement, military or private sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex findings clearly and engage confidently across a range of stakeholders.
- Strong intelligence analysis fundamentals including the intelligence cycle and producing assessments.
- Ability to work with geospatial data in order to identify key locations and movement patterns.
- Experience using network mapping tools and methodologies to visualise and analyse relationships and structures.
- Experience tracking events using open source material, including media and social media.
- Familiarity with basic geolocation techniques.
- Basic understanding of corporate records research and entity ownership analysis.
- Basic understanding of databases and data structures, working with large data sets, with the ability to work effectively alongside specialist data teams.
- Knowledge of violent extremist groups and how they operate, and regional awareness of the Sahel and West African coastal states.
- Working proficiency in a regional or relevant language such as French or Arabic.
This role may involve some exposure to extremist material and, on occasion, graphic or distressing online content. Exposure will be minimised where possible, and line managers will actively monitor staff wellbeing; however, you must be comfortable working in this environment and able to manage the associated challenges professionally.
